TEA HOUSE.

We were commisioned to design and construct a Japanese Tea house with ancillary buildings and structures within a new Japanese Garden in the Cotswolds. The tea house tradition asks that the building and environs work as contemplative spaces. It also suggests using local materials, so it is built from English oak with traditional lime render for the walls and oak shingles for the roof. Set on a lake, one wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!
